Mostafa One of the Top Goalkeepers in the Country

For the second time in three weeks, Frostburg sophomore keeper Hassan Mostafa has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office, Monday afternoon.

Mostafa posted two shutouts last week and registered 19 saves as the Bobcats finished 1-0-1. He opened the week with a seven-save effort in a 1-0 victory over Mary Washington and followed it up with a career-high 12 saves including a penalty kick save in a 0-0 draw with ninth-ranked Christopher Newport.

His two shutouts raise his season total to seven (nine combined shutouts) and the Columbia, Md. native leads the CAC in saves percentage (.940), goals against (4), goals against average (0.31) and he is second saves (63).

Mostafa is ranked #2 in the nation in save percentage and #5 in goals against average before this weekends shutout of CNU.  His defense leads the nation in save percentage and is #2 in the country in goals against average.
